As Salman Khan’s film Dabangg 2 goes on the floors today, history is in the making in Bollywood. How? Read on ahead.
We have heard of films being shot on an industrial scale, but how many times have we come to know of an entire studio being booked exclusively for the shooting of just one film. That’s happening now at Kamalistan Studios where Dabangg 2 is the only film to be shot. The studio has 12 units which can work on different projects simultaneously, but now there’s only one unit that’s going to be active for the next fifteen days or so.
Reason being that the entire studio has been booked for the shooting of just one film, Dabangg 2. We hear that an elaborate set recreating Kanpur has been put up inside the studio and Salman Khan has hired as many as 80 security personnel to guard the sets. The security cover for the sets is also unprecedented.
Meanwhile, Arbaaz Khan, who is going to direct Dabangg 2, celebrated the launch of the film by throwing a party.
Sonakshi Sinha, who returns as the leading lady opposite Salman Khan, tweeted: “Dabangg 2 shoot starts today!! I join them on the 18th… Can’t wait to get back to where it all started! All the best to @arbaazSkhan @BeingSalmanKhan and the entire team! Abhi tak sabko nehlaya tha, chalo.”
Amrita Arora, sister of the ‘Munni’ Malaika Arora (Arbaaz’s wife), tweeted: “Today is the 1st day of DABANGG 2….@arbaazSkhan turns 1st time director wit this venture as well..All the best Team DABANGG…”
Dabangg 2 will again star Arbaaz Khan as Salman’s brother and Vinod Khanna as their father. Prakash Raj is the new villain in the movie which will be set mostly in Mumbai.
The film is slated to release on Christmas this year.
